German violinist Sara Göbel is currently pursuing a Master of Performance at the Royal College of Music in London, where she studies with Prof. Alexander Gilman as an RCM Scholar.

Since 2023, she has been a member of the LGT Young Soloists. With the internationally renowned ensemble, she performs on stages around the world, appearing regularly both as a soloist and as an ensemble member. Concert tours have taken her throughout Europe, Asia, North America and Australia, including performances at renowned concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Tonhalle Zürich and Victoria Hall Singapore. She has also performed with the LGT Young Soloists at festivals including the Ludwigsburg Festival and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, and has contributed to professional studio recordings.

Alongside her work with the LGT Young Soloists, Sara Göbel regularly appears as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed with ensembles including the Göttinger Symphonieorchester, participated in the Renaud Capuçon Chamber Music Week, and in 2023 won the University of Ottawa Chamber Music Competition with her string quartet. Further important artistic engagements and experiences include the Notos Chamber Music Academy, The Holland Music Sessions, Heidelberger Frühling, the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, the Sarasota Music Festival in Florida, and the PRISMA Festival in Canada.

Born in Hannover in 2002, Sara Göbel began her musical education at the Institute for Early Promotion of Musical Excellence (IFF) Hannover, where she studied with Meike Bertram from 2016 to 2019. From 2019 to 2021, she continued her studies as a pre-college student at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover with Prof. Ulf Schneider, with whom she subsequently completed her Bachelor’s degree from 2021 to 2026.

During the 2023/24 academic year, she also studied abroad at the University of Ottawa with Prof. Timothy Chooi.

Sara Göbel has received artistic guidance in masterclasses with Alexandra Conunova, Ingolf Turban and Catherine Cho, as well as through encounters with distinguished musicians including Ana Chumachenco, Midori, James Ehnes, Ning Feng, Martin Brauß, Eberhard Feltz, Rainer Schmidt and Jörg Widmann.

She also has extensive orchestral experience, having performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Germany, the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, and since 2023 regularly performs as a substitute player with the State Orchestra of Lower Saxony.

Sara Göbel is a multiple national prizewinner of the German competition “Jugend musiziert” and has received, among other distinctions, the Eduard Söring Prize from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. She is a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk and was a long-standing scholarship recipient of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover. As a prizewinner of the 29th competition of the German Musical Instrument Award, she played a violin by Stefan-Peter Greiner (Bonn, 2005) on loan from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben from 2022 onwards.
